Yes, there is a severance policy on the wire but it has multiple loopholes depending on who is being released, for what reason, and other factors that can be trumped up.

Most state laws say that a company has to adhere to it's policy. So if there is a severance policy, they have to follow it. If they don't, contact the local labor office and notify them. The local labor offices have officials that specialize in that stuff and will fight on your behalf.

Source - Someone close to me is a Co and they called the labor office ahead of time in our state..

The latest I've heard was 60 days pay, but keep in mind that it could be individual (or false info).
