Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it

I was a brand new employee (hired January 3rd) when the ax fell. I've gotten no response from my HR rep to inquiries I made about severance, etc. I've surmised from things I found online that I get nothing in the way of severance. However, I worked 19 hours last pay period and when I called my Club yesterday to see if my check was there, I was advised it had been mailed. I didn't receive it in the mail either. Is there ANYONE out there that has a company number I can call to find out where my check is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RqnRLmX-1aoq. and yet another as hole that can’t read and understand. no wonder your store was closed. little intelligence and certainly no manners can’t sustain a store. if you’re handed written instructions obviously you couldn’t figure out what to do.

Your payment is that you didn’t work here 26 years and then get hosed like some of us. Insignificant post.

You would definitely need to have been there for 90 days before severance and even then it’s doubtful you would see any without putting in a full year.

The rude a-- people are most likely the millennials. I find them to be lazy and very rude and most still living at home with there parents. Usually could care less about anything or anyone but themselves. They think everything is about me me me.

Sorry for everyone being rude Not all Sam’s associates are rude like one of the comments said ... you can call payroll but they usually won’t talk to associates.... did u set up direct deposit ? If so it will be direct deposited to ur bank account .... I think you might have to call a mgr and have them call you said u are in a club that shut down but the mgrs should still be working in the clubs so they have to help you !! If not call your market office the market mgr assistant can help you .

For some reason Sams Club employees are smart asses anyway and usually talk down to other employees. Just ignore the rude ones and their smart a-- comments!

To the last two people that posted, I'd like to sincerely thank you for your responses. To the rest, who raked me over the coals, I feel sorry for you that you are such miserable people you have to take it out on someone else. To infer I don't matter just because I was only there three weeks is incomprehensible to me. I didn't take the job with an eye toward losing it in three weeks' time.

I didn't even get a call to tell me my Club was closing, let alone a letter. I read about it online and when I tried to get confirmation from my supervisor, I was told I would be paid for the shifts I was scheduled for but couldn't work because of the change in hours, etc. It wasn't until last week, when I made numerous calls to my supervisor, that she back-pedaled and told me I'd only be paid for the actual hours I'd worked. If this is the mob mentality of the people that work for WalMart and Sam's, I guess I'm grateful to have lost the job.

You people bullying the new associate are pathetic. If any of you took the time to read and, wait for it, COMPREHEND you would see it’s not about severance. That was stated. Only wants her/his paycheck! I hope each of you rude jerks will be out of a job soon. Good luck to the displaced associate you will be much better of somewhere else.

Your naive to think you’re getting a severance pay. But anyways, stated you called the Club yesterday and you haven’t received your paycheck by mail yet. Give it a day, we just got paid yesterday. They probably also have to mail a lot of checks. They probably just put it in the mail yesterday. They send the checks certified mail. So you will have to sign for it. You’ll probably get it today or tomorrow, if not then Mon. You gotta give it some time to be mailed!

Wow-am I ever naive. I actually thought that people would be nice on this board. I never expected to be abused. Whether I worked there a month or ten years, I lost my job too. To be bullied for asking a simple question of my peers has been a real eye opener. Thanks!!

It is not that some of us do not want to help we just do not know where to send you. Don't let a few a low brain cell folk get to you. Give it some time and maybe someone who can help will come on here and give you some help. Good luck.

That’s what you’ve found out after working 19 hours? 😂

No, I don't want a severance. I want my paycheck. Never mind. Clearly no one wants to help. That's pretty much the company philosophy I've discovered in the past month.
