Thread regarding Sears layoffs

MySears Community GONE

The mysears community forum is gone. Web address redirects to the Sears Knowledge page. For those that don't know is was a community area where you could register and write problems you were having getting issues resolved with Sears. Mostly appliance problems. Delivery messes and non working new appliances. Protection plan issues.

It was the only way to get in touch with someone a little more able to help after you were lied to and rebuffed by the call centers.

MyKMart Community redirects to the Sears Knowledge page too.

Too many cooks spoiled the soup, mysears, craftsman club, managemylife, shopyourway and a dozen other dotcom forums poorly implemented at great expense.

You would have to be crazy or very naive to buy a large ticket item at Sears. Shopping for nostalgia's sake, I can understand, buying clothes or something. But appliances? Mattresses? No thank you.

But now people have no where to turn when something goes wrong with their appliances or delivery. Those seemed to be the main topics there. Jewelry issues too. Personally I believe it went down because it was bad PR for Sears and no one was really helping anyway.

I don't know why anyone would buy a major appliance from Sears now but that's another thread.

Customer service got cut. IT told not to start any new projects and if something goes down then leave it down. Probably what happened to the forum.

Danielle, if it were me I would try posting on the Sears Facebook page and on the Sears Twitter page about my problem since it looks like the dedicated community forum is down. Most likely forever. The links are available on the bottom of the investor relations page if you go to:

www.searsholdings.com

You can also try camping out at your local store to get the name and contact info for the District Manager and contact them. Repeatedly if necessary. Lastly you can look at the SEC filings to get other contact information that may be useful for you.

You can contact your state's Attorney General to see if you are covered under any local laws. If so, insist that they go to Hoffman Estates HQ directly because inquires and service are ignored by the local stores. My Sears store throws this type of inquiry away and if it doesn't reach the trash, it doesn't get acted on anyway.

From a google search:

The My Sears Community is here to help our members. If you have questions , our experts and support staff are here to answer them. Dig a little deeper and find helpful Do-It-Yourself projects based on your questions. Don't see what you need? Share your feedback in the Ideas section. We want to hear from you!

But the page is blocked. My Kmart community too. Guess there is no longer any pretense of help for The Members.

When they first tried this years ago, it was an open forum for the discussion of Sears products/services. They were so deluged with complaints they had to add moderators and restrict the postings. They probably couldn't keep up with the volume of complaints. It would take 500 customer service reps to deal with all the problems created by this messed up company. Why anybody still shops at SHC stores is beyond me.

Who needs to write a comment to a place that doesn't exist?

Those forums were touted by the company as a means of being transparent and open with members. I guess they will close down commenting on the company Facebook pages next. Somehow I think they have limited that, too.

Yeah, the vendors are struggling, all right... struggling to justify risking money on unpaid Sears POs.

@1xfo- Yeah, me too. We havent had those in our store for months. They keep telling us that they are having vendor production problems and the vendors are struggling. Yeah, right. If that is the reason how come I can go on Amazon and buy a case of filters? Why dont they have vendor production problems?

Why is Sears the only company having Vendor production problems and Amazon, Target, Walmart, RiteAid, JCP, Macys not having the same issues? Why do they insult our intellegence and why do they blame their problems on someone else?

I'm still looking for humidifier filters.

@1itr More likely means they foolishly think if they take away the place for people to complain, the problems they're complaining about will no longer need to be dealt with. Nope, just means the complainers will find other, more labor-intensive and bad-for-PR, ways of complaining.

Does this mean they are thinking of shutting the whole company down so no need for service?

This forum was the last hope for tortured Sears customers seeking resolution and now it's gone. People can't afford to spend $1000s on appliances that don't work and aren't even serviced through the expensive PA they bought.

Maybe the forum coordinators got laid off?

Guess that means that soon there will be no one to complain to. What happens to all the PA's?

Just searched and you're correct. That is disturbing. Means they don't want to pretend to look like they're trying. Given up.

From reading there you could tell that certain Kenmore Elite appliances had problems affecting almost every machine but Sears kept acting like it was a one off for each individual purchase. People asked for photo releases which is pretty harmless but now they won't be able to get them.
