I got one today.. Not sure what it means
If you had benefits last year BUT
did not average the minimum hours
required to keep benefits this year,
you would receive information to continue those benefits under COBRA. However, you will pay the full amount plus a small fee.
2) All displaced associates will get information sent to them. It will
explain how you can apply for COBRA, how you can convert your life insurance policy wher you pay the premium, etc.
3) Please make sure you read all
information mailed to you. There can be time sensitive material.

I was told today if you made any kind of change to you insurance this year you will receive this cobra form letter. Has nothing to do with layoffs or elimination of jobs. We have enough to worry about, his is not one of them!

The switch from one provider to another for some associates,United Healthcare to Aetna, is probably why the Cobra rights notices are being mailed out.
a severance pkg is NOT the same as COBRA. severance will come fed ex after the assoc is keyed out. COBRA is the continuation of insurance after termination if you choose to take it.
Does it really matter what position you are in or the state. Just questioning, the what if for those associates whom did receive one.
