Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

The best people will leave on their own

I'm not sure how they plan on keeping talented people with options in the area after this round of layoffs. As if the HO wasn't depressing enough by itself - now add low moral/fear/angst x5. Anyone with legit skills other big firms want would be foolish to not start looking.

This! So much this! Everybody I've talked to since this whole things started said they are updating their resumes and looking for other positions. Literally everybody. Does Walmart really think it can treat their workers like this, have it continue to hang over everybody's head, and expect no repercussions? I'm guaranteeing there'll be a mass exodus of best people very soon.

They have a number that they are trying to get to. We will keep cutting until until we get there.

Attrition just helps. The thing is that most talent that leaves is the talent you’d want to keep.

Rib is right they want you all to leave voluntarily so they dont have to pay severance or suffer pr problems. It’s obvious they don’t want to keep any of you in Bentonville

So true. I have so many friends who work at HO for Walmart and Sam's and they're all unhappy. Overworked, underpaid and underappreciated. They are all looking for positions with suppliers. It's very sad. When will Walmart learn to treat their employees better?

If the plan for new headquarters are correct, they can only fit so many people...they welcome your exit. It’s like a Noah’s Arch.

That is so true. Then on top of constant layoffs they mess with the evaluations to make things even worse. Maybe they hope people leave on their own so they can out source
