Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Big news, the store-level changes are not complete: Co-Managers replacing SGM

This is an operational enhancement pursuant to Simple Store initiatives. The SGM position will be going away in a few districts as a pilot program and then eventually rolled out to the rest, in favor of having one manager in charge of two stores. When the company wide rollout happens, I don't know, because this is still in the planning phase. Stores that are a "considerable distance" from another will retain the SGM position until further notice.

Demotions/reassignments and/or layoffs TBD. LBS (location balanced scorecard), performance and length of service have been discussed at the meeting as the potential guidelines on which SGM of the two neighboring stores will be kept.

This has been tested with the Kmart format in a few of their districts. It is now in the works for Sears. Keep in mind at this time that this program will not roll out to every store, as of right now a only couple of districts in will be selected as a pilot store (and even still only a few stores in those districts will actually participate in this program).

The terming 'operational enhancement' should be read as 'operational disassemblement.'

Ap already does this at our store!

If AP can do it SM can do it better!

Satire post:

A real savings Eddie could realize is make store hours part time too!

Closed Sundays- to match the feeling of being in the 60s,70s 80s

One store can be open mon wed fri

The other tues thurs sat

And then close at 6

This wd better align stores with outdated equipment too and the customers (members 🙄) wd be more plentiful each day having less days in that week to shop and embrace this new platform

Regular employees would be plentiful in each store to help customers

Going into sears Kmart is like being in a time wArp so why not make customers(members🙄) really feel the full affect of the 60-70s and have the shorter business hours and really give them a WOW experience

Last.. cut DM and above management pay to only 2x the workers pay..

DM would each have 30 stores or more and they would work 6 days a week and be required to visit each store in their territory at least once a month and be required to work in the floor in each area on day of visit. NO cheating by asking store level management to take videos or pictures of the store and email to them while they shop their way (at other stores)

Regional DMs would be eliminated

(has anyone ever met one anyway?)

All regular store employees wd have great company provided health insurance at no cost( I had this in the 80s with 2 children and myself covered plus dental)

Company provided pension that kept up with inflation

All regular employees wd only work part time hours but get paid for full time hours

All stores wd have a snack bar for customers and employees

Those delicious subs would return to snack bar

This is satire
