I understand betrayal, and I get where you're coming from. I can place myself right there next to all of us, the APM's. At some point though, you've got to move on. It would be kind of narrow minded to be with a company (specifically this one seeing how every year, the same time, these changes go down) and not think each time that you could be on the chopping block. It's business. A huge business who doesn't get to be this big by not having to make tough decisions like this. A smaller company maybe I would be shocked but this is absolutely expected I think, don't you?

Anger stems from the feeling of betrayal. Betrayal from a company that so many of us gave our blood, sweat, and tears after so many years of loyal unselfish service. The only thing that s---ed the life out of anyone was "The Company". The non-ending,unrealistic, and unobtainable goals that kept all the hard working professionals in a state of exasperation. These changes were a long time in the making, and a well thought out "plan" to force attrition. The APMs especially, who were the voice of reason and calm in emergency situations in their buildings. These were the professionals that sacrificed all their personal time, children's birthdays, and anniversaries, to conduct late night interviews, apprehensions, respond to alarm calls, all while keeping everyone and everything safe. The feeling of betrayal is the result from those who were willing to make the sacrifice because they BELIEVED in the company's goal to be successful; only to find out the goal was a complete myth. It's all very sad.

Why are you so angry? So negative. Yes these changes weren't planned but what is done is done. You're s---ing the life out of yourself and everybody around you by being so negative.

Show them the links. I am sure they aren’t even aware of how much theft is actually happening. All these shoplifters sharing methods and showing what they stole. I’m sure once they see it, it will hit home a little more.

Wow, I followed the links and that is crazy. I don't plan on putting much time in on the AP side, our store is getting a new service center and a Backstage installed this spring. My AP team has been cut back to just one detective from 2 full time and 1 part time last year. We had a conference call last week and we aren't even expected to be fully trained in AP for six months. My detective has been with the company for 10 years and has almost a month of vacation scheduled in the next 12 weeks, so there will be no AP coverage that can make a stop at my store while he is on vacation.

The store manager doesn't care much about the AP side and my boss is the old Operations Director and she has already told all of the old Ops Managers that she doesn't expect anyone to place themselves in harms way and that we will focus on recoveries, internals, and not apprehensions. I am going to be way too busy with projects for the next six months to spend much time on the catching shoplifters.

Now the bleed over of AP into OPs will s--- the life out of Ops as well. AP managers running ops in stores will be a joke. Guess it makes sense tho...cutting highly paid ops managers making 80k-100k and filling them with 50k apms.
