Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Shop Your Way

Do we make any money off of this? Does it bring people (can't say "members") into the store?

Seeing how they keep extending my MAX 'Trial' every time it ends, it seems worthless. Of course, the merchandise selection between Sears/Kmart is slim-to-none now.

SYW is Eddie's answer to Amazon Prime. Membership is all the big rave now. Unfortunately, SYW to Prime is like crap to diamonds. There are many many reasons why shoppers are willing to pay $100 a year for Prime membership including free 2-day shipping, free movies, shows and original shows, unlimited photo storage, etc. etc. What about SYW? Crap. Just crap. As a consumer, I have absolutely no reason to be a SYW member nor shop on the Sears marketplace. You may look the part on TV, but you are not a real anything, SYW.

I don't undestand why Lampert seems to promote SYW, wasting billions $.

Sears will never make money by giving FREE cash to customers as points.

People only spend the free points and go away, this is not sustainable. At least if there was a minimum purchase requirement when using points it could work be would be hard to understand for customers.

Anyone understand why the company is wasting billions on this ?

No. We have people that come in every week, some a few times a week, and all they get is some free stuff they have a coupon for and they spend their free cash. Many have multiple SYW accounts so they are constantly getting the free offers.

there was one day, I swear, that half the people paid nothing for their stuff. How you can make money on that is beyond me.

My question is where is this company getting all this "free cash" to give out.

Considering the last time I recently made a "purchase" I basically got three things for free thanks to my points, I'm going to say no, it's not exactly profiting.

Normally I'd feel kind a bad about it, but given that they up and decided to close mine (plus losing the discount almost a year ago)... Oh well.

It's a joke! We were told in Auto a year ago not to offer to cash in the points. We were told that we have to pay the main store when points are cashed in. I don't even ask anymore. I just cash everyone out. Forty cents.....no problem.....cash out! Ef Sears!

If it did, we wouldn't be where we are today. Major fail for SHC, but EL won't ever admit it and will stick to it until the end.
