Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

cold heart

I don't mean to be cold hearted but you do realize they are taking care of the management team first before they lower the boom on us hourlies. We are second class to everything else. We deserve to know what is going to happen to some of these positions sooner than later. Any management restructure doesn't change how things are done by the associates especially if they keep the current management. Every club has their favs and they will stay and even some of the dead weights but the bottom line to me a 25yr associate waiting to hear if any changes were coming to receiving is disgusted that they think it's ok to hang us out there wondering. Anyone that has worked in receiving for any length of time can see things changing but everyone says no changes it's all Bull....I'm ready now to know.

Assistant Managers and club managers are loosing their jobs (displaced) starting today, if they have current coachings, bad reviews or do not meet the new qualifications in order to become a manager. Details on new qualifications are not being disclosed yet. Assistant Managers and club managers DO NOT KNOW any changes for hourly's, most of what you read are rumors. Stick with the facts.

@zvz first of all I am sorry that you received that message. I pray that you will be able to find another position within the company or be offered a severance package that allows you to take the time to find a better job.

We were told that the meetings would take an hour. We have 6 AM in my club & 1 CM. Were you given time to ask questions or just handed that letter? Were you immediately walked out?

What are your options after having received that letter?

And if comfortable did you have any coachings on file?

I apologize for this if it is insensitive but at this point you are an ally to those of us who are waiting to hear our fate!

God bless you in this difficult time!

My Husband is an AM, he has absolutely no clue what's going on. No one is going to know, until the MM are in club and the conversations are had.

Operations leadership conducted an extensive talent review of most managers across the organization. Based on the results of the talent review, you were not selected for a position with Sam's Club.

This is what I got today.

Seriously? Audit deserved more respect as well and didn't get it. Stop being so selfish!!! They can give a rats a-- how long you have been with the company, and as a 25 year associate, you should know that!!!!

AM’s DO know what’s going on. They are just not telling you. They were told to keep quiet but of course they are not. I agree with the original posting. Just tell us already. 25 years of dedicated service deserves a little respect. Hell we all do!

Get over yourself. If it were you being told you were losing your position, you would want your moment of privacy and for the whole club to not being running their mouths about it! Your time may be coming and you will feel different when the shoe is on your foot.

I agree with you. The should have a club meeting to address hourly associates questions. But they wont, everything they are doing is secretive. The conference call this morning, lasted about 10 mins. All they stated on the call is they are restructuring and that the market manager's will be in clubs this week to let the affected managers know.

The AM do not know what is going on. The conference call this morning, was letting the management team know the MM will be in stores this week.
