CWA is holding a town hall meeting to discuss organizing stores that are sick and tired of the micromanagement

I agree, when management (at least 2 0f them sometimes more) are in closed door meeting with you they tend too pile on were the stress level is unbearable. Having someone in their with you is a benefit. What's interesting no one has mentioned where the town hall meeting is?
The Union didn't change how VZW can manage in a sense but Union members cannot be coached without Union Representation. Its not your word versus theirs you actually have someone their to ensure you don't get screwed over.
Haha. Be sure to show off the contract the CWA accepted for the Brooklyn retail employees, especially all the language that forbids managers from micro managing. Oh wait, there is nothing in the contract about that. Instead, it gives management very broad rights to manage without any interference by the union. And the CWA took those employees out on strike for 2 weeks to get that "deal". I would begin to respect the CWA if it shows employees the contract and truthfully explains the bargaining process and the difficulty in getting a first contract. Instead, organizers try to fool employees into believing they will have new power to demand improvements if they are willing to pay a union to represent them. I have no doubt many retail employees are concerned. It's so sad that dishonest union organizers try to take advantage of them. However, VZW employees are not stupid. Even the most casual look at the CWA's performance at AT&T Mobility and VZW Brooklyn shows the CWA is not the answer. That is why the CWA has such a hard time expanding at VZW. It simply can't force improvements for employees. But it will keep knocking on the door because the union gets paid by employees even when it can't deliver a good contract.
