Does anyone know who may be buying Chesapeake Energy? Names like SA,Exxon, BP,Shell and a company from India have surfaced.

The executive management are such incompetent morons, I wouldn't bet on them initiating and closing on an M&A. Only if the the other company does all the work for them, an M&A might happen..
Every board member and officer of Chesapeake Energy bought huge amounts of stock on the open market prior to August 11,2017. Since that date no open market buys or sells have taken place. Sounds like a quiet time to me. We will see?
Nobody is buying CHK. The names you mentioned (and others) have "surfaced" about 2 or 3 times every year for the last 6 or 8 years.
Wall Street has a name for companies like CHK - they call them "dogs" and as you might guess, that's not a good thing, as reflected in the CHK stock price. So nobody is going to touch CHK with a 10 foot pole, given the heavy debt load and oil prices not nearly high enough to adequately service that debt.
2013 is that you?!
I just heard BP was moving their Houston office to OKC from a former BP employee.
Is that why we still have a useless BD department? Any deal that happens will be done through a third party and investment bank. Not sure why we have a department that adds no value.
