Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Culture

Is it me or is the company vulnerable to serious accusations of s-xism, racism and nepotism? I see it and hear it all the time, and it sure seems all too common. I have to believe the % of female and persons of color are lower than most Fortune 100s.....seems like a story waiting to be told eh?

They push diversity. But look at the leadership. You have a hard time finding anyone who isn't a white male. I know a couple female middle management - directors - and they went for the twofer, Indian women. Tokens in unimportant functions that don't affect the bottom line. And all the decision makers are white males. They talk diversity but they don't practice it at all.

Honeywell Aerospace is one of the worst companies I ever worked for. Favoritism. Many GREAT engineers including me finally left. Jay Heath could be the culprit but it could be his upper management. Hasta la vista!

I moved to another company and found out 3 ex-Honeywell engineers there in the same dept. They are so happy with the new company! Priceless.

There are many people that think they can express themselves completely inappropriately here when it comes to race and gender. They should all be written up. That is a fact.

It's not just you. Honeywell maintains a good old boy system that won't be broken by a few diversity prep talks given by upper management.

With two engineering degrees and a climb to "near the top" of the technical ladder, I was met with resistance, poor opportunities, and s-xual harassment. Being a strong woman I was able to reach a level of technical success that most others did not.

I watched while other woman in my group were bullied until that left. Engineering is a very competitive business were egos run rampant. Your colleagues wouldn't think twice about throwing you under the bus and talking trash about you... anything to get a larger piece of the merit increase budget.

"the % of female and persons of color are lower than most Fortune 100s"....This is idiocy. Just because something doesn't fit with a statistical average doesn't prove racism, s-xism, etc. Apparently you've never seen a bell curve.

This is the sort of garbage SJW Eric Holder rationale that the Obama administration pushed for 8 years. Find examples where people were clearly discriminated against due to s-x, race, gender, etc and the world will stand with you. Make allegations based on not conforming to some average and you're a buying into ideological falsehoods dressed up like "science".

I recall a townhall where Krishner said if at all possible they would promote the minority or women. I don't recall his exact quote but he basically said if the white male was more qualified but any other candidate was at least mostly capable they would give the role to them to make up for the past

That is how you get English majors with MBAs leading engineers......

2 years to retirement..... can't wait to go, and take my experience with me

If anything it is the opposite....if you are white, male or American (heaven forbid all three) you are a second-class employee and they have no issue telling you this.

They RAM "diversity" down our throats.....here's a novel idea. afford opportunity to everyone and the best suited and the person who deserves it gets the promotion/job/ raise.

being brown, black, yellow, female, male should be irrelevant.

the other side of that coin is..Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer when it comes to f**** all employees over.
