DO is abruptly leaving IT anybody know why?

She was recently promoted to a VP and was going to be leaving MIT for a newly created IT staff role in a couple of weeks. Anybody know?

C'mon, folks, you know the Layoff.com rules - no names.

It's simple - https://newsroom.intel.com/biographies/appointed-vice-presidents/

Scroll to the O's. Voila.

Wonder why no one at the top bothers to control IT spending! Office politics again?

IT job security at Intel is in customizing a well working vendor software into a nonworking and unusable Intel software!

I hate to say it, but an outsourced firm could probably do a better job than Intel IT. They certainly can’t do any worse. IT is awful.

DO is the one responsible for getting big budgets for MIT spending with regular biz class travels, expensive boot camps in high end hotels for MIT managers, regular F2F meetings. What did she achieved with all those spending? Nothing much, instead it's full of office politics. The only reason DO was promoted to VP was due to her being a long time trusted lieutenant of BK. After all those spending and nothing much to show, I wouldn't be surprised she's moving on to another group.

IT would be ideal to outsource if Intel didn’t customize the hell out of everything.

Standards based environments are cost effective to outsource. Highly customized ones are expensive and ineffective to outsource.

Despite years of trying to standardize and having multiple IT staff sponsored programs minimal progress was made.

Is she just moving out of IT or quitting Intel altogether? If the latter, I wouldn't be surprised if she got hired at that cesspool of liberalism, feminism and SJWs called Google.

Does it really matter if she quit or was fired? Most of the time you never really know with execs, the communication is so ambiguous.

So is your point that she quit over this plan? Or that she was fired?

It's no secret that most of IT is and will be outsourced to contractors and third party companies. Part of BK and Swan's drive for cost savings, IT is the easiest function to outsource and/or shift to low-cost geos (alias sh-thole countries).
