100-200 offshore employeees let go before start of working day in states. i know you don’t care as they are offshore but this could be you in the next few hours as part of the 30% being culled so be a little respectful, good luck to all, keep your head up, life goes on after SHC.

@gsc-- You do realize that you will not have a job to come back to, dont you? By laying you off for 6 weeks it gives SHC time to either file for BK. or get enough money to pay severance. SHC is broke, broke, broke. Vendors are leaving and they have no cash flow. Unless they can rework their loans and sell some assets they have until around March when all the options are done.
Marketing is done just like advertising is done, along with buyers, designers etc. Dont need them if there is no company. They dont advertise or market anymore. It is over
@gsc sounds like a way to get around paying severance. Maybe hoping people will just get another job?
@gsc I don’t understand? You work in marketing at HE and are being laid off for 6 weeks only to return? I’ve never heard of anything like that?!
Some of the executives are part of the end game, and will move onto whatever comes out of the new SHLD. The close circle has not changed much over the years as new blood did not succeed in penetrating the high walls.
I work at HE, was brought in to the conference room and given a performance review. Upon completion I was told I would be layed off for the next six weeks. I am to report back on March 19th, I am in marketing.
Obviously I was stunned I’m going to start looking for something else, begin collecting unemployment. I’m at least relieved that if I can’t find something comparable I still have a job to come back to. Hope everyone else is ok.
IMX cuts are next month. Just a heads up
Fasten your seatbelts HE!! it’s going to be a bumpy ride! And for everyone else it’s just a matter of time! Save face and RUN!!
which departments got impacted?
We were told everything would be done by noon
Are the cuts over at HE or are they still happening?
Job counts be damned, I care about the fabric of the technology landscape and the Internet. Offshore resources butcher code, misconfigure servers and infrastructure, and rely on 'mugging' to dump all over code-bases in an attempt to ladder climb. MBA's keep thinking high aptitude tasks can be farmed out to a large warehouse of monkeys. Zero F's given. I just invested in cardboard box companies.
Tried calling delivery- no answer. On hold 30 minutes. Do we still have a call center?
Maybe if they stopping paying HR to lay around having orgys they could be profitable?
to the cheap steak who mentioned Indians earning .10 cents an hour. B--ch our salaries are more than you or your family makes combined. Fact.
Guess both are screwing each other. I see no other explanation. A one time engineer and a hedge fund mgr transforming the retail business.
How does an engineer like Leena in charge of transformation a retail business? Eddie sure knows how to pick em. Most engineers are totally out of touch with people. That goes to say a lot about Sear's so-called transformation. Sad to see all the terrible choices and now consequences.
Ap layoffs?
Leena's survival astounds me.
Sorry for those losing their jobs today. Also sad that the Sears I always relied upon my entire life has become full of low quality merchandise and I would have been a better CEO. Eddie purposefully drove it into the ground for personal gain.
Gordon Gecko lives!
IMX was spared.
Seems like Leena's hierarchy and below has not been impacted.
There are also areas that are moving, so the boxes could be there for that too.
Every communal area on the floors at Hoffman have boxes in them, the more boxes in the area the more your floor will be hit. Take a look
Guard in the A building, by the door, has a binder with copies of Sears and contractor badges.
@gqi...wake up 10 cents a hr, in that case you all will be practically redundant
200 Indians is like half a Hoffman associate what do they make like .10 cents a hour.
Found cardboard boxes in the core that weren't there yesterday.
Best of luck to all that are involved. Hold your heads up high an know you did a great job with the little resources that we all had or have to work with , look at this as a new chapter in your life’s book.
Thousands of cardboard boxes everywhere.
Sure they did....
Call center jobs outsourced to India where the "employee's" handle CS for multiple clients.
why not post a link to verify this information?
Cry me a river
Well said @ckr . I have an unscheduled meeting with my boss this morning at head office, i know my time is up but part of me is happy that I’m finally free of the misery that is shc, good luck
Good Luck everyone - no one deserves this. Every employee has been doing the job of two or more people and then to be let go is sad.
Sad for anyone who loses their job today or any other day .
Agree with Ann below , dont understand that naive ‘drain the swamp’ comment from what is probably the same sad poster on these boards. Majority of us are hard working, underpaid workers with families all sharing the same pain and lack of benefits at SHC (I am looking to get out like most)
@bij well said, agree completely
Offshore or not, it doesn't matter, the whole thing is just sad. I don't see the offshore employees as any different than those of us in the US working in the stores, the distribution centers or in the corporate offices.
Thanks to the poster who told us this was coming last week when they looked at all the conference rooms being booked, the opposite goes to the troll who in the same post said the rooms were being booked for end of year evaluations, I hope karma catches up with that liar
