Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Here to stay!

Our product will be still coming on our trucks when Walmart goes CAO. As long as we are still delivering we are not leaving DSD.

60 says as required by law. Earlier they tell us, worse it will be for them! They will wait as long as possible!

Kelloggs wasn't given much notice. They found out in the middle of February and exited in July. It can happen this year and most likely will

We will not end dsd this year. If so they would have told us by now.

I was told the first by a WM manager. He said,"yeah crazy that all vendors are going CAO". He asked if I knew the date things would be coming out of Mclane warehouse? I laughed and said not sure, but figured it is coming. He said that's pretty obvious! Sure does! My guess is they are waiting on a WM meeting to discuss CAO because they are letting go of some and increasing routes, ultilizing order writers again, until the big announcing after Kroger goes CAO.

I keep seeing April 18th on here. Maybe that's when we're getting the news

exactly.....we were suppose to have conference call this month on walmart. Obviously they want us to focus on this crazy M3 number. I doubt its April 1st.....probably more toward Mid of the month I would think.

Who announced that? One team rally meeting said April but they weren't specific on what day. Very little info given. Smoke and mirrors! Cover up!

Wrong! It has been announced WM is going CAO April 1. Departure from DSD is speculation but the safe we are exiting is a definite!

No one knows for sure about any of this. All just speculation at this point. I personally think it will come in waves once it starts. I would honestly think once Walmart starts CAO next month they may redo the routes.......Then once Kroger goes all hell will break loose. Still have no idea when the start date of Walmart CAO is as they are not saying anything this month with this MONSTER M3 number they want everyone to focus on. I bet we will have conference calls right after this month is over.

Think the layoffs will come all at once or let go some and some later on until July when we're all mostly gone?

Kroger is coming as well. June from what I'm hearing at stores in our area. Going to be a bad next couple of months with layoffs inbound. They will adjust our routes once all this begins at Walmart and cut positions.

Think again!! That may be the temporary way but that will only last till July then we'll be unemployed

Yep, your so right! New program at WM! Lol. We're in a great spot with major problems in NA in sales and growth projections that we are gonna be an industry leader and take on a "new" DSD that has our drivers delivering from our warehouse and our merchandisers stocking, but they order. Clearly you fail to understand the value of dsd here! Maybe ask you boss how DSD works and why it "was" profitable! I'm sure your believe whatever they tell you, very sad. DSD is ending, at all stores, for all vendors, in waves. We are next. Frito will take much longer as thier DSD model is much different, reps are drivers and only have 2-3 stores. They have been given a 3-4 year projection of exit, we won't be working this summer. Deny all you want but you'll kick yourself when it comes down. If your only PT, won't get anything. Reason they are hiring and on boarding more help. As things unravel people will quit!

Spoke to Frito Lay Rep the other day about how they order. They are ordering their own product while they have product that comes in cross dock. We are now not allowed to adjust any orders now per management. Told to let it ride. You are kidding yourself if we are not going warehouse. This is a feel good session til we get all the bugs out. Any way you look at it is there are job cuts coming with Walmart ordering their own product.

Yep here to stay! Nothing to worry about. Driver's will still be delivering. We'll still be merchandising and tweaking orders. It's a new program all DSD vendors are going to at Walmart. Frito and Coke already are on it.

I see what's going on here. Nabisco is gradually transitioning over to warehouse. Kellogg's transitioned cold turkey. There were severe problems with out of stocks. Nabisco saw this. That's why Nabisco reps will still be able to 'tweak' orders until retailers get caught up. The end is near.

You cannot compare mondelez to Frito lay! Different retail models. Their reps are also the drivers! Do our reps drive a truck and deliver the product! No! Compare apples to apples! Frito lay are all Union, are reps and merchandisers at mondelez Union? No! Our drivers and pickers (not all) are Union. They will still be driving and picking! Our retail model is exactly like keeblers, reason we are going second! Easy to disassemble! We are halfway there already after consolidating the branches. Seem cost effective to have drivers drive 6 hours to deliver Oreo? Not so much!

Frito is CAO but they know they are exiting DSD. They will be one of the last to exit, they have way more skus than us! They own an entire aisle!!

They have to be trolls. Outside of a company troll or a kid who hasn’t been here long to see how cutthroat these people are, there’s no way someone can be that gullible.

Do yourself a favor and educate yourself! There is plenty of information available to make much more informed statements, just have to look beyond what you are being told by management at the rally! They have a different agenda! The one company attitude will quickly go away soon for those that get let go.

I can verify that statement also.

I was also told by Walmart management to reduce back stock or my orders will start being refused.

Lots of blind nos orders coming through.

I bet there will be refusals at Walmart.

Walmart manager told me yesterday that we need to start reducing our backstock because our product will be coming in on their trucks soon. Either she is mistaken or knows a whole lot more than I do.
