Wondering is this site truly just people like me being curious are is it truly truth to the things being said...honestly I fear going to work daily not knowing if my life would change that day by losing a Job I had a third of my life....so if there are game being played on here like Facebook are social sites can someone let me know...cause this is my way of living...all I know for a fact is my store manager was let go and we all loved him...and I keep hearing it's more to come today

I'm an overnight manager and they just called me, and would like me to come in early to close because there is no closing manager tonight. Got to love it. Let the scrambling begin.
In my market over the last 3 days there have been literally 12-13 managers let go or displaced. 2 in my club. One club had 5 let go or displaced. It’s sad what this company has become. I’ve been with them for over 10 years and it was never this bad until recently. All so the billionaires can make more money while the rest of us suffer.

Two managers "let go" in our club this morning - and yes I am a long-term employee.
They know you won’t drive 50 miles. This makes total sense they don’t have to pay severance.
I was just "displaced" this morning. I have no "coachings", no performance issues, no attendance issues- nothing. I think it has more to do with the survey we completed months ago. (All managers) Assistant managers are either being sent to other clubs (not of their choosing and up to a 50 mile radius) or "displaced" with the option to apply for any open positions within the company- which makes no sense because they are firing people to make openings for the ones they are rearranging- so there are no openings. There is more to come today. More assistants who have done nothing but help to grow the company will be "displaced" today. So yes, this is very real. My advise to you would be to ensure your resume and business networking sites are up to date and to be continually looking for ways to advance your career outside of Sam's. No one is exempt from this.
I would take what is said here with a grain of salt. Everything is rumors until it comes true. With that being said, a lot of the things posted on this site have come true so yes there is at least some truth to some things being said here. However, if you have been with the company any amount of time and know how they’ve done things in the past, it’s pretty easy to decipher fact from fiction. You can’t live your life day to day so just do your best and whatever happens. Easier said than done I know.
