Don't you really think VZW is too large to do an Enron?

The Union doesn't tell you that there is anything in the contract about what Verizon can or cannot do if it were to fail financially. You can read the contract for yourself.

Choose the lump sum if you fear Verizon will fail.

And remember, if VZ fails financially, it can dump its pension obligations on the government and pensioners will receive a fraction of their original pension with no healthcare benefits. If the Union tells you this can't happen because of the contract, they're lying.

You have to be willing to sacrifice for future gain. The union is only as strong as the membership. Some things are worth fighting for. Nobody said it would be easy. Fighting the rich and powerful never is. Good Luck hope you Read Before They Take My Post Down.

So union guys, as a 18 year employee, what would the union do for me??? We at my store are thinking of joining. No morale, no pay and we are basically being coached out as quotas continue to be unattainable.

It is a troll post because it will never happen. They have refused to organize for over twenty years. A great number of the long tenure people could have already retired with a pension or a massive eisp by now. Most from those days probably have quit or been laid off by now. The remainder see it as a filler job until they do something with a true future. Anyone hoping to have a voice at wireless is deluded. The company has been highly successful at keeping them under their thumb. It is fantasy to expect otherwise.

There is no way that wireless will go union. They lack the nerve. Always have always will. They will quit before fighting for a better workplace. The company knows this. It is ludicrous to even talk about it. Only trolls post about it.

No more “no layoff” clauses, and you won’t be pension eligible. Enjoy another useless hand in your wallet.

One can hope. If it does nothing more then simply sticking it to upper leadership that begs us yearly to not join a union
