If they offer you a job within 50 miles of your current club, and you decline it, you lose your severance.
Yes if you accept the move down you would lose your severance pay but you still have a job. If you do not accept the offer you get your severance and have no job. You have to decide whats better for you. Depending on amount of severance pay would be in my opinion the deciding factor.
