Despite knowing the fate of other companies, Cisco is focusing more on software rather being innovative hardware company.
It is clear that Cisco has to depend on Google or Microsoft to deliver its "innovative" solutions.
Well go tell that to the hordes of fresh out of collage cheap inexperienced engineers that think the only thing in the word of IT that exist is FB,Google and Amazon. And have absolutely no clue whatsoever about anything else that linux, cloud and api's, and are not being taught otherwise.
Dont get me wrong its not that linux or cloud is bad, but the IT world is a little bit bigger that that. Since Cisco wants to cheapen the Networking IT labor cost, they will try to push more and more good for nothing software, however their main customer base will not go for it, simply because the quality s---s and the support is horrible.
What vision? Who cares? There is no vision in Cisco. It is all about shareholder values. Or the value for chuck and his ELT.
