Optum IT Moving Offshore

I heard that Optum IT is moving mainly offshore including management. Only SME's will remain on shore. Does anyone have additional details?

Yes that is true. Any job that can be done off shore will go off shore soon. The On Shore iT size will soon shrink from 2000 to 2500

If you are not from India, you should be worried. They offered a so called "deal" to people 55 or older to leave the company. They think people from IT are interchangeable. The lowest wage wins the race with this company.

The UHG and Optum executives that make these decisions don't care about disposable resources.

And all employees are disposable resources to them.

This company does not live its values; it is profit before all else.

It's already there. 4 out of 5 positions offshored has been the very transparent goal for years. It's been shared at all townhalls. No secret. If you go into Optum tech building 4 out of 5 contractors/employees are visa holders. This helps with states that specify only on shore.
