Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Big Humana announcement

So there has been some vague talking of an announcement that is coming next week for all of Humana. Does anyone know what it is?

Yes. The post was referring only to the LH program. Just trying to give a heads up about what is happening, not trying to scare anyone or freak anyone out. We are all a mess in many ways right now. Take care.

WE know the email is Tuesday or Wednesday, we now close to half of the CMs and hcmss will be gone, and given those numbers, half the coaches and coms. No mystery there

Wht would a PHC have inside information regarding HCM layoffs? Highly unlikely. Just ignore the troll guys.

Well if you DO know what the announcement is, you DO know when the emails will come out and you DO have a pretty good idea of how many coaches and RN's will be impacted then why cant you share? So tired of people saying they know everything but never say what that is. Put your money where your mouth is and show us your cards!

@2hxf oh whatever. Like we're supposed to believe that you as a PHC have inside information that NO ONE else knows, and we should all feel shame for not rolling out the red carpet for you to get you to tell us? Get over yourself.

I don’t see anyone jumping on you about roster size. The posts after yours are just matter-of-fact statements about how members will be mass moved to monitored, but nobody is attacking you.

Okay. the problem is someone posts and corrects a fact as I just did about roster size and people jump on that assuming there is a denial or confirmation of OTHER details being made. I just confirmed how many members were on my rosters. Since you took the opportunity to jump all over me.

I DO know what the announcement is.

I DO know when the emails will come out

I DO have a pretty good idea of how many coaches and RN's will be impacted.

But you can go to hell. I try and help and you jump all over me.

Right all remaining lh members will automatically move to monitored next week once we are let go.

It doesn’t matter. They will all move to monitored when LH ends. Roster size doesn’t mean anything. Letters will trigger as well.

@Ry1yFS1-1jpn Except I have an average roster size of 350+. So yes LH is going away but don't assume the rosters are at zero.

@Ry1yFS1-1von maybe you need to chill the heck out. It was pretty obvious the poster was talking about LH. Geez!

Relax people. Obviously they were talking about LH being dissolved and the PHC and PHC coaches getting early release this week. It's no secret they are going away, and it's no secret they don't have any members left now either.

Hopefully the rest of us impacted will get early release quickly as well.

@Ry1yFS1-1rqf You are so full of p--p! I know for a fact they are NOT disolving HAH! How dare you try to scare people like that. They are dissolving Live Healthy only.

Maybe the poster saying they are dissolving the department just meant Live Healthy. Not all of HAH.

Omg. They are not dissolving the department! They need it to keep their foot in the door to transition to home health!

The layoff will be this week. We are not being told and then early released but for those let go we are being let go. This is our last week because they are dissolving the department. Good luck to everyone who is being affected. It has been a very difficult year to say the least. Take care everyone and we all need to keep our heads up this week.

@1hev. It’s not wild guessing, it’s distracting from the fact half of us will be gone. Please stop your snarky judgement of how I choose to spend my time

More than likely we are being aquired. Humana has made no secret that it is open to a buyout. CVS is buying Aetna. Maybe another large company like Walgreens or Wal-Mart is buying us. Who the heck knows. Stop the wild guessing and wait to find out.

As a coach, I can assure you I know nothing of a big announcement that is Humana wide. You always know people are making things up when they say big news is coming and that !readers kn ow, but never share more than an ominous vague statement. They can never back it. Don't trust everything you read!

It does not necessarily mean layoffs, it could be in response to the Q4 layoffs. It is an adjustment based on layoff costs.

The company’s 4Q17 earnings news release is expected to include financial measures that are not in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). A reconciliation of non-GAAP financial measures to financial results under GAAP, as well as management’s reasons for including non-GAAP financial measures, will be included in the company’s 4Q17 earnings news release, a copy of which will be available on the Investor Relations page of www.humana.com on February 7, 2018.t

What does this mean, when you’re inferring it’s beg news? I googled the link, found this it means layoffs....we know that

@1qcf You do realize that physical therapists now have to complete a doctorate degree, right? Prior they required a masters. So unless you are a DNP you did not manage them with a higher degree. Getting his start as a physical therapist does not mean he is unable to lead nurses and by the way, nurses aren't the only roles in HAH! There is a nurse who oversees telephonic.

The announcement coming has nothing to do with the nurses, or Human at Home for that matter. The announcement is Humana wide. The COMs and coaches know what it is.

Enough of the physical therapist crap! It's meaningless and I'm sure has zero bearing on what's going on. Go bark up another tree. Do you think all the leaders must be nurses?

This sounds familiar to another company’s model of case management. Members on your ‘assigned’ roster were prioritized based on alerts and your calendar or scheduled calls. The remainder of the work day was either ‘cold’ calling new members newly enrolled or eligible for the program as well as working what was called the ‘que’. The que was based on what callers selected when they called the 800 number. (I.e. benefits, nurse). There was a light on our Avaya phone that blinked when members were waiting in the que. If you were completing a call in after call, then that light was your way of knowing to wrap it up. A different type of metric was measured based on how well our teams responded to the que (member’s wait time, talk time, etc). Very similar to a telephonic nursing call center. Not so much of ‘assigned members’ but all of ‘our’ members. And yes, the calls came in through an auto dialer as well. The good news is that if the member has the right identifiers, it all popped up in a box on the screen. All we did was confirm. Hmmmm by George I’m on to something.

@Ry1yFS1-dhl Here we go again. It has to be about the nurses. Hate to disappoint you sunshine but this will not just be about YOU. And that's not a guess, the arrogance of some people to assume it's all about the nurses. I would have thought that having a Physical Therapist manage your day would have taught you that not everyone worships nurses.

The major changes have zero to do with 4th quarter announcements. It has to do with a change for the HCM-RNs. Apparently it has something to do with something we have all been complaining about....that's where the vagueness comes in. We don't what which complaint they are addressing or how. But it will be a big change we may not like...per another thread.

4th quarter results will Be communicated on Feb 7th. It’s public and if you google Humana news you will find the announcement.

Anything else will be a surprise. With all the downsizing and employee eliminations the last year, nothing suprises me anymore. Disappointed yes!!!
