Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Murthy

I hear M, is looking at CEO slot elsewhere, Board may promote him sooner than later. Or sweeten his package.

can nyonw articulate what M has done of any material significance other than wait for his chauffer at 4pm outside RNB on so many occasions? i thought he could adjust his private jet or do crowded airspaces force him to begin his commute earlier?

He has lost all crediblity! No other board would hire him now. The only reason Intel board would not want to let him go, would be to avoid market rumours and speculation of a management failure. A smart board would ensure MR delivers a successful 5g SoC and then bring in a capable outsider as rhe CEO. MR is clearly adopting his old QC strategy of holding the company to ransom with his India strategy led by his friends....from Andhra :-) ....

Murthy is a talker and bloviator. He has done nothing except move thousands of jobs to India. He doesn't merit even $1 million out of his huge salary.

M promised execution focus and touted Glenview as an example and failed after a delay of 1 year plus at the milestone it was culled. He is no doubt an effective Project Manager, only person at that level to be aware of project status to a high degree. Hehas also beefed the Bangalore site to 12k in a 2 year period and is working on a huge Hyderabad site. Not sure if he screwed QC execution by his quitting and the attrition he caused ??... He did bring a couple of good guys though...He has not imbibed the Intel culture and has not done anything to justify a 25 M pay....The future is in Autonomous, AI , Data centers and PCs Of which he is only responsible for PCs....he also has half the headcounts under him :-) ,..he who owns most cattle ends up as the village headman ..so :-)

@cvy he’s done a great job being a role model for Bk to cash in his rsus and options on scheduled vests and leaving minimum shares at hand to maintain his ranking

What was the purpose of handing Murthy $25mill?

Same with Bob Swan..

There were no internal people capable of being promoted?

I hope he becomes CEO and convinces the BOD to do something totally radical and insane. A harebrained scheme like getting into renewable energy or aviation or healthcare. Something that makes no sense at all.

@inz - True. He has no real incentive to do anything, other than getting promoted to CEO. Rest and vest is the name of the game.

He negotiated himself a $25 million package. What more does he need to do? He could phone it in for the reminder of his career and he would still be set for life. He can do whatever he wants from here on out, Intel took care of him.
