is chevron ombuds program truly confidential? Will local BU level manager get any update?

Ombuds office really helped me and everything was kept confidential. No report back to my manager or business unit.
They are such a waste of time that they don’t even take notes of your complaint or problem. WTF do you expect? They are nothing more than grief counselors. lol. Want a tissue?
Totally a waste of time. Ombudsman is powerless.
Ombuds is confidential. Good starting place for complaints. They will, however, simply ask that company policy be applied to your case. Did your BU leader violate written policy? The hotline is also an alternative and goes directly to outside third parties who only connect back in to the legal and compliance dept.
The Ombuds office is not the place to argue about your pay.
Is the Ombuds office a realistic option for the non-Production Petrotechs who took pay cuts and are now paid lower than industry peers? They are also the future of the company who they should be trying to retain.
Oh yeah, the local BU level manager will be the first to get any update. Straight phone line to his office. Watch out.

The office of Ombudsman is supposedly a confidential middleman where you can go if you experience a delicate problem that requires a neutral entity. Mind you, though, the Ombudsman is not supposed to be “your advocate”. They are not the company’s advocate either. They simply are there to listen to your grievances and to help you find a solution. They will circumvent the typical chain of command protocols, if necessary, when seeking a fix, but ultimately your issue will come back to roost with the person or persons you gave the issue with. As far as repercussions go, there’s not supposed to be any. But we know that ultimately, sh!t rolls downhill. I personally don’t think the Office of Ombudsman serves any real purpose. It’s a place to go vent, nothing more.
