I just read an article saying Kroger is hiring 11,000 new jobs and 2,000 management positions. They must be getting ready to take all DSD over!

DSD will be coming to an end soon. Inflated numbers will give them an excuse to put the blame back on us.
That's one reason we don't make $, more to it than that. Doesn't help we can't offer millenniums what they want to buy! Dirk's words. Only reason things aren't worse is we have let a LOT of people go and moved bakeries to Mexico where wages are pennies on the dollar to the U.S.! Can't keep doing this.
The reason we operate in the red in the US is because we are still doing DSD. Look at the numbers, we don't make a profit in the US. We will save up to 500 million dollars once we get rid of drivers, pensions, insurance, trucks, fuel,ect.

Our account manager said same thing that July they will be going CAO. But we would still be taking care of the stores and orders will come on our trucks still. He also said route change should will be coming as well.....so probably expect a few layoffs if they make our routes larger again.
Don't hit send on your resume quite yet. See what type of severance they are offering and go from there. Definitely stop drinking the Kool-Aid and definitely get your head out of the sand. There's a lot of evidence that we're exiting DSD sometime between May to August.

Kroger got an email Friday to to notify them of CAO. Using one division for final test and tweeking and rolling it out everywhere July. I saw the email!
