Sure the feelings of dread and unsure what the future holds will be over whelming. Take a long fast 40 min walk every day to get rid of the stress chemicals. It will also lift your mood which will allow you to look at things from a different perspective and that is a good thing.
If you have the talent and the ability to appear confident to the point of arrogance in an interview good things will happen. Remember every one gets knocked down in life BUT what you do when you get back up is the most important thing.
All successful people have failed, some miserably, but they figured out what they need to change by how they failed in the past. Google it and see how many failures a lot of well known people have had before they succeeded.
You have to keep reinventing yourself no matter what age you are. The odds may seem at first overwhelming but each day you work towards your main goal they seem to dissipate rather quickly.
Figure out what you would want from someone that was working for you and be that person in some shape or form and good things will eventually happen with enough effort.
Only you can let yourself feel worthless NEVER give someone the power to do that, even persons that lack a moral compass in authority roles.
