Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Just be patient

CA mentioned it will be very fast, but actually it needs some time. Directors will do the evaluation of their engineers and submit to VP, and VP will do the same thing to SVP. It takes time. It will be about a month from now.

Let's see what happens next Tuesday. Even though Tan wins, he is not gonna bother QCOM's own cleanup. He will plan his own round.

If Tan will take over, this transaction will take for up to one year. This is why I hope that layoffs will not be instant but take a Few months. In other words, there will be some time to realise where we stand once is done.

The nxp cost savings are already known about (in terms of 500m opex savings).

The new target is 1bn in addition.

Obviously, not all will be labour related. However, assuming there are layouts to meet the target, they’ll be in addition to any nxp layoff

All those layoff lists and rankings already exist, because they were done in preparation for the NXP merger. I actually saw the list for my team last year. If they want to execute a layoff, then it‘s a matter of days, not weeks or months.
