HR policy for expats working in the US

What kind of policies or checks and balances does the company have in place to prevent expats working in the US from gaming the system? For example, the the Unstructured IM Supervisor from MCBU IT has been in the US for 4 years w/ 2 anchor babies in tow. This person knows that she's reaching the end of her assignment and will be shipped back to the Philippines soon. In an effort to extend her stay in the US, she's going to apply for another US based assignment in the Spring PDC. Is this even allowed? It would be one thing if this person was adding value to company while on expat assignment, but this person has no real talent and is clearly milking the system.

5 to 10 percent expats in the US is a very reasonable figure considering our global operations. Let’s not get to siloed into nations.

As long as a there is single US born person who has a relevant degree and cannot find a job in O/G,the correct number of immigrants is zero.

She'll probably get the post and stay. No checks or balances. 14th amendment needed a time limit to capture all freed slaves post reconstruction era. After which it should have been repealed.

I’m far from the kind of person that goes around screaming get rid of all the immigrants, but 4ydz is on the money. When secretaries go to the US to crank out their sprog and get a USA passport out of the deal something is wrong.

I'll agree, the immigration system is messed up and we can't continue to let everyone in. I worked in West Africa, and many of my national employees were able to game the system to get their anchor babies, even without an expat assignment in the U.S. There are Companies that help pregnant women get into the U.S. - instruct them on how to lie on their visa interview, how to bind themselves so they don't look pregnant, so they can travel to the U.S. to give birth. These companies even help them get government assistance while they are in the U.S., including Medicaid to pay for the delivery, and facilitate the baby's passport after the birth. Some decide to overstay their visa's and continue to get government assistance, The system is completely broken. No other country in the world allows this, especially the countries these women are coming from.

Anchor babies? That’s the reason our immigration policies need an urgent change. What’s next? Chain migration with Mom, Dad, siblings and cousins in tow. Then the lack of cultural assimilation and increase in government welfare programs costing every tax paying American an arm and a leg. Christ!
