GE used to be the top drives business, did a JV and then sold to Toshiba/Mitsubishi (Temic)

Couple of years later they buy #3 player Converteam from French. Now selling it to highest bidder.

GE under Immelt has uncanny track record of buy high sell low.

BTW, Converteam itself was spinoff out of Alstom, as a condition of bailout from French government.

GE years ago sold the Selkirk NY plastic resins business due to strategic reasons. Plant now has environmental issues under the new owner. Why hasn't GE off loaded similar chemical businesses from BH?

GE Lighting has already had part of the European business sold off, the deal may not be final yet, but it was definitely announced a few weeks ago and is public information.

Renewables...GE needs cash and this is a viable business to spin off and sell to Siemens or Vestas.

"You're a fool if you think any GE business is safe from buying downsized, sold, spun off or closed permanently."

I want you to notice something. You talk about this like it's a plot from a horror film. "Your're a fool if you think...." that there are not gigantic sharks or ghosts or zombies or asteroids plummeting towards earth....

You are not rational. Your feelings have overtaken reality. Go find something else to do because you're going nuts.

I'd suggest becoming a Hollywood writer but I don't think you could come up with a second story because you can't admit that your current story is just that, a story.

Almost as soon as GE bought Baker Hughes they decided to sell those losers. Bunch of clowns get your act together.

You're a fool if you think any GE business is safe from buying downsized, sold, spun off or closed permanently. When a person is broke and can't get money for they garbage they are trying to sell, they start selling valuables to pay the rent.

Yeah, GE is going to sell aviation. Right.

@S0zFgw3, you're an idiot. Get a life. Start dating. Take up a hobby. Do something, anything but spend more time on the internet.

GE can't sell bhge until July 2019. I suspect we will sell chunks of the power business to abb. Perhaps aviation to Boeing. Keep in mind this is the opposite of what jf said so it is even more likely.
