Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

HSF (USA) forced mgrs to put people into the elbow.

Now forced to put those people onto PIPs and performance reviews.

This is ugly stuff. Spread the word. What's next for some of those folks is obvious. Shame

The GE management philosophy. And GE is such a great highly respected company. Just look at them now. Didn't the leaders at Honeywell get the memo?

Yep, myself and one other person I know here at Deer Valley both received the lowest block score ever and both have many years with the company (over 18 and over 23 years) and consistently are high performers and put in long work weeks. Managers in both cases expressed they were sorry to do it but HR told them they had to do it and if they did not then HR would pick. I feel sorry for managers that are fearful for their own jobs and are forced to make these bogus block number assignments. I would be curious as to what percentage of unusually low block scores were given to employees with long tenure with the company (i.e., older employees with higher salaries that the company would not mind losing).

Just a caution for everyone to be maximizing what they put into their ROTH IRA, Health Savings Account, etc. to increase their savings in the event their positions are cut. Be smart!

The EEOC will take any case that is relevant so don't let the posts dissuade you from taking up your cause/case with the EEOC or ANY government agency. The tactics used by HON may be illegal, don't let anyone talk you out of what you need to do. Please look up the definition of discrimination and judge for yourself if you have the feeling something is not right.

For those thinking that the EEOC route will provide a remedy ... dream on. If you kick up a fuss you've ruined your chances to work as a contractor ... and you'd never prevail anyway. The deck is stacked against you. EEOC is just a tease. HON knows full well how to deal with them ... they've had enough practice. Just move on while you still have a shred of dignity and sanity.

Sadly your team and co-workers are now your competitors for the 9 block, so their success is not to your benefit. Are you going to give them tools or knowledge to do their job and out perform you? Is it better they fail so you get rated higher than them? Hope this is not the atmosphere of the future.

CORRUPT organization - Failed leadership - Ignoring the law - treating employees unfairly.

Ask the EEOC to look into it.

Sadly, where most states now are ‘at will’ work states, there is no need for made-up reasons to put soneone on PIP. A company such as Honeywell can just let you go. But for some reason they seem to get pleasure in destroying a good persons’ morale and career. And HR could care less.

I know this for a fact. I was put on PIP at age 58 after a 20 year stellar career, always block 1-2. I had proof that their allegations to justify PIP were lies. HR told me my proof did not matter. The ONLY thing that mattered was that my manager wanted me on PIP. period.

Get out of this horrible company while you can. Do not waste your career here.

You think it won’t happen to you. I didn’t think it would either.

The older you get, the more money you make, that target on your back gets bigger and bigger.

Managers at Aero US were all told that they had to pick one person under them and put them in the lower “L” block, which then means a PIP. How horrible to work for a company like this.

Hon wants higher paid people out and maybe bring in young new talent at much lower wage and no pension or contractor where needed. Been this way for a while. The only goal of top leadership is cash extraction.

HSF needs to reduce headcount and they will find any way to do it. At the leadership meeting earlier this year they said that the spinco had 17,000 people. In the recent announcement naming the new COB for the Homes business, it said that the new company will have approximately 13,000 employees. Those extra 4000 aren't going to be absorbed by the mother ship, so they have to do something to reduce the workforce over the next 6-9 months.

It isn't just HSF...its across the board in all functions and SBGs.

1) Everyone is a 5 block now no matter how hard they worked or what they did.....

If you stated that your 2's and 4's were still 2's or 4's and had the data to back it up ....it didnt matter. "5 isnt a bad thing...it means they did a good job". Heaven forbid you had a 1 block, you got a call from your idiot HR rep.

2) X % needed to be put on a PIP to set them up for the door. They are using the HPD/Pip process as a RIF tool.
