who cares.. ppl that got layoff in 2015 just get re-hired a yr later anyway.. all a show
Look at 2015 layoff, 60 days notice prior to final termination date, this makes it compliant with CA WARN act (google it). People were notified September 17, last day was November 20th. The layoff will be bigger this time because as BCOM called out and people here have noted, QCOM didn't cut $1b before when they said they would. Now with stockholders looking for accountability, management has to make good on the cuts.
Why is it 60 days before vesting date? Are they giving 2 month notice? Some people say it’s just 2 week notice this time.. no?
not even 3000 people lost their jobs in 2015
All rumors, there are no large scale layoff. Do not scare yourself . How many in 2015? Not even ten percent
Make that “to after the meeting”. TLDR: you want your last day to be technically after bcom takes the board to get the better severance.
@qwm i hope it is. I really can't take the uncertainty any more, knowing either way wpuld greatly help my productivity, and I like to be productive.
Really have no clue how people are slogging it out in the lab I am in. Respect to you folks.
Also if you do get laid off you’d better hope the shareholder meeting happens on April 5 and bcom takes the board because you’d still get the CIC package then. If the meeting pushes out further and your last official day to before the meeting then no cic pacakge for you.
Back out 60 days from next vesting date, that’s your layoff day. So yeah it’s in the next 2 weeks.
I don't know if my wife can go through this again .... it is really stressful for families with kids ! We survived 2015 layoff but this time I wish for a package ....
Takes a month to wake up PJ
Share holder meeting got postponed..hence the delay :)
