Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

This will not work

Anybody else thinks these changes will be the last nail in Sam's Club coffin?

I can't see this working out for the better in any way or shape possible.

If ever there was a time to start looking for a new job, this is it. At least I know that is what I will be doing in the following weeks and months.

Been in receiving a long long time.....the only way this will work well is if every thing and I mean every single thing is received and paid for scan based.....meaning we only pay the suppliers for products actually scanned at the register at the time of sale. So if we receive ten TVs and 7 are scanned at the time of sale we pay for those seven....the other three would be a loss to the supplier , not Sam's....that is how some of the local vendors like bread are being done already....if we do literally all sales that way it wont matter if we lose laptops , cameras , pallets of water and loaves of bread ....all those losses will be absorbed by the vendors and not us........................now assuming we continue to have to absorb the losses our self then this new system is going to hurt really bad..............

Do everyone a favor and just stop commenting. Your making jokes while others may be loosing their financial means to support a family.

Let me guess, you are doing the audits and are CO'ing in a ton of things. Maybe because the DC sent them by mistake and didn't send the things you were supposed to get. Then you will be charged back for the over shipment when the DC realizes they messed up. Oh yeah, don't forget about the things you did not receive that you thought you got. Oops, you forgot about that shrink. Because you NEVER COUNTED IT. Know the process before you make yourself sound more foolish than you already have.

And how do you know the shrink number, when the audits are not being done correctly because you are using incompetent people to include part-timers? If you are believing it's working, then your are taking part in the demise of Sam's Club.

It is all ready working great. Sales are up 126% to plan and shrink is actually a .03 swell and wages are down 18%. This is the way of the future

If you have to respond with uncalled for language, maybe you have the wrong attitude. Our receiving team has been on the so called "new receiving" process for a while now. And NO it's not a good idea. We find several discrepancies each and every week totaling up to several thousand dollars at times. If you wait until the yearly inventory to discover the problem, it's already too late. There will not be a paper trail to prove the mistake and you will eat 100% of the shrink that could have been prevented. I've been in receiving long enough to know this. If only the higher ups making these decisions knew how things really work down on the ground floor where the work is really done.
