RT gone, PJ almost gone..who is next ?

Well, PJ is not really gone. He is still on board. This change means actually nothing more than a show !! Perhaps he is positioning himself as next CEO and negotiating. Who knows, this is one way he can keep Jacobs legacy alive for some more time and try out the his luck.

What they have then is moved the chairs little bit around i.e playing musical chairs. The current boards needs to clean up with no more games! Nutshell a rotational translation with little transformation.

Whats next ;

  • NXPI tender extended by a week ? Still in 10% ball part, they should have been 70% . This is going to take long long time with the current situation with shareholders and pending china approval. Mr. SM blabbered something that he could not accomplish.

  • They have to respond to the smear received yesterday from AVGO with some strong justification. This is the review time.

  • Line up news every day other other day. Nest perhaps will be response to AVGO. following which, bunch of some new product announcements to keep them going which they figure out the next move from the other party!

  • Background, start pouching candidates for CEO.

  • Announce some new executive positions/roles to show they are serious but actually not really

  • On March 18th or so announce layoffs

  • News to discontinue some BU and products to save $

  • Sell some assets in sorrento valley due to layoffs. This will compensate for the packages.

  • Geoshift tons of activities to India for now.

  • SM steps done last week of March and CA under fire as well.

  • New board ready to be in by April

  • Next round of assessment and clean up by June!

Now, Its time to change the focus from "who is leaving to who is coming in"! For sure current mgmt is staring at the door.

  1. Are we getting a new CEO, CFO ?

  2. Will there be changes in each of the top functions such as engg , products etc. ( based on how its structured). Who is out and who is is ?

  3. If a Unit is not making any money, axe ? which ones are out. Any new ones to be in ?

  4. Merging of functions. Example, I see from other posts CE is dead. Will Test functions get into development ?

  5. See PE role is not useful. Will this be transitioned to other groups ? or removed ?

  6. Are so many titles and layers needed ? Perhaps needs to axe some titles.

  7. Lot of manages with no skills, are the going to be nuked ?

  8. Audit groups and divisions for politics and start cleanup from the top and bottom.

Agree, all this makes it loud and clear things will not change with the current set of executives, management. At least 5~6 levels from CEO needs to be cleaned up and reduce the total levels between CEO and hard working engineers to at most 5. T

The more the levels, the more stress dumped on the employees and executives do less work and end up in the mess the company is right now. This is too bad for the hard working engineers.

Not a big deal, he is still in the board - it is just a small cosmetic change similar to our logo, just to show shareholders we are doing something.
