The rumor that Principal and above will be affected most seems to be true, as we are seeing layoff starting from the top in the last few days.

Layoff, when it really starts will be brutal and will hit all levels.
If you remain, be prepared to pick up the slack left by those being cut, in an environment worse than it's been before.
The lucky ones are the ones who get the blue folder. The ones that stay will get the "it's over, let's focus back on work" standard speech, but it won't really be over like in past years, it will be years of uncertainty and cuts going forward.

My job:

Attend all meetings with PM to answer all technical questions to outside world.

Stay late to develop the feature.

Follow up myself with dependency teams for timelines, PM is just there in emails.

Update online with status so other PMs can track.
These other PMs don’t see what’s there online n each one send me email for status update. So I need to go back n update all of them n say - Please Check online.

RT is the only (voluntary) exit i know of.
