CAR and Refunds

Doe's anyone get fired anymore for refunds or anything else on the CAR? It just seems like LP is not catching anyone like they used to. Managers just pencil whip those reports to be compliant. I remember when lp used to be in the stores investigating employees...now nothing.

Just my opinion - not on behalf of the department- but Store level SRA coaching, or, as it is popularly called, CAR review is more a proactive measure than a tool to “catch” refund fraud. If an SM actually has the conversations around all the different metrics, it creates the perception that someone in the store is paying attention - keeps honest people honest. The AP team doesn’t depend on store level SRA coaching to drive cases. Plenty of POS fraud cases are being driven with the analytical systems in place.

Also, claiming there has been a shift from investigating theft to more “big picture” shrink is not accurate. AP concentrates on higher risk stores now for auditing and visits - true - but they go to any store for any internal issues.

Yes it’s still investigated - the view is more on the big shrink picture. Deploy your resources (limited as they may be) where it counts and can make the biggest impact.
