Been hearing rumors about an incoming layoff round at Allstate sometime this month, but there is very little detail involved. Frankly I'm not sure where the rumor originated, but too many people have been mentioning it to simply ignore it.
Anybody here knows more about this? I'd appreciate any info.
Four months ago the rumors started. 200 of those people mentioned above as being an insignificant number is a real stomach punch if you are one of them. Yes, the president of ALLSTATE does have the stockholders in mind....and his own bonus. This is a business not a family and it’s all about making the stockholders money. Employees? No, they are worker bees! Allstate is not the only company who cares mostly about the mighty dollar. Sad but true. The buildings in Chandler looking more like the Northbrook campus. Don’t get too comfortable anyone could be next.
If you’re in California, I think you know what’s going on. Get used to the heat.
Not to mention they are hiring “ temps “ to “ help out “ that’s a red flag right there.
No benefits, no PTO, or servance that needs to be paid out.
Very few insurance companies that aren’t domiciled in California have a large scale physical (brick & mortar) presence. Allstate is the outlier.
I think you know what’s going on. Make sure you’re mobility status is checked “yes”.
New claims office being built from the ground up in Chandler Arizona housing California claims office people in my office are dropping like flies everyone's scared that it's ending soon they're not backfilling positions on people who have left and basically we feel as if there's no transparency we need a heads up we need to know what's going on

Am I missing something here, cause I thought this site was called ALLSTATE THE LAYOFF. Not Allstate the keep calm a settle claims for Glen's stockholders and know your value in the market. Hey 200 may have a small impact, in your delusional world, unless you are one of the 200. BTW if you find this post a distraction I am sure there are some productivity reports you can run for the morning huddle. Don't forget the red pen.
This is the kind of post that’s irresponsible and creates anxiety and distraction, 99% of the time for no good reason. It’s a proven fact that rumor and falsehoods spread at a higher rate than truth, and these type rumors are a prime example. It’s a classic Trumpism. “I hear a lot of people are saying........”
We’re an organization of 50,000 employees, and the fact that a department of 200employees somewhere may have a small impact, is no reason to create organization wide angst.
