@S857vBf-2rth - you are correct. SF owns no facilities at this point to the best of my knowledge. They did negotiate different length leases with a number either on the chopping block, or soon to be chopped, that had 5 year leases with renewable options.

To the best of my knowledge, even the Hubs were sold with leasebacks.

@S857vBf-1ujg - The hubs and Bloom-Bloom being the only places left was made pretty obvious when they sold all owned facilities and announced the lease lengths at various facilities. Then they went through the whole named location BS. From what I understand, there is nothing stopping the company from pulling out of a named location before the lease is up.

Wow! From what I read here and elsewhere it looks as though the plan is for the three hubs and Bloomington. Holy smokes .... hopefully that takes some time to develop.

29 yrs with the company, 53 years old. I'm thinking that I am close but no cigar. But that's ok, or at least not crappy. If I get involuntary severance It will put me close. Or, it will give me a cushion while I look for something else. Not a troll either. Just being real. We are dinosaurs in the companies eyes and I would really like to be somewhere I was valued...

I am not a troll and I agreemy comment was a little harsh but the fact is I have 29 years with the company and 51 years old and I will be screwed if I leave or get let go. If you have been with the company 41 years you have to be at least 59 and most likely older which makes you eligible for retirement, medical and 401K. You are in a great position compared to me and many others, that is the point I am making.

The sad reality is that places like Concordville are temporary in the companies eyes. These jobs will migrate to the hubs, the only question is when. The uncertainty of that, coupled with the day-to-day stress is soul crushing. You have my support.

Now, that being said, it is time to wake up and smell the coffee. I would recommend that you go and find another job before you are competing with everyone else that will be let go when the office closes. If you have worked a long time in Casualty you have some very marketable skills. You will be valued somewhere else. It is a scary thought for some, but start slow. Get your finances in order, brush up your resume, bank some days to use for interviews. Then go for it. Trust me, there is life after State Farm. Good luck!

I was trying to ask the same question and was slammed by a troll for my longevity. All of us in Fire and Casualty have families as well. It is still shocking that this is happening and that this forum is necessary, but let's be nice and help each other navigate.
