Oracle Bare Mental, I mean Bare Metal is 2 years behind all other like cloud technology. So I'd say no if I was you.

Oracle has become a company of people who settle for transient employment. Fake growth since 2003.

They are just hoping something gets traction and sticks before they are dust in the wind. Not a long term opportunity IMO. Go work for someone who has a future.

I would take the job in this economy. Benefits are quite good.

Be sure to negotiate a higher salary before accepting as raises and bonuses are few.

What's the worst that can happen to you? Quitting for a better offer?

NOTHING is ever funded adequately at Oracle. There is a long history of failure after failure in terms of development in-house. Unless you are desperate, there are million better places to be.

Run away if you can.

Hell no, run away, unless you either have no alternatives, or get offered a boatload of guaranteed dollars. Keep in mind that the value of your human capital will decline while working at oracle because you will NOT be working on cutting edge stuff.

Oracle Bare Metal / Gen 2, like the rest of Oracle Cloud, is underfunded. They have not spent the money needed for infrastructure and data center buildout and are light years behind AWS and Google. You will compete internally against the Gen 1 group. Salespeople are leaving and/or getting laid off and being replaced by new college hires working phones. If they’re offering you a pile of guaranteed money and want a job for two years, great. Any variable comp like bonuses are likely to get cut back. You won’t get raises. You probably won’t get stock, or if you do, it won’t be worth much. Benefits package is mediocre.
