Embrace the holes...

Seriously? Just when you think you’ve heard it all, it gets worse. Can you imagine telling that to a customer?

@-ibq-----No, not a cheerleader, just trying to talk myself into this program since I don't have a choice/options at this time. Do I think some of it is good, yes, the cleaning up of the backrooms and cutting down on some of the over ordering. What I think is bad is the walks. Why does everything have to end up in a write up with this company? I see Regional trying to blame all the things that went wrong on the store level people so "they" have to come in and "fix us". They could have simply said get your backrooms down to "X" level and left it at that. You give my STL a challenge and he will make sure it gets done BUT he will help us. So was there some over ordering, yes, but that hardly was even close to the downfall of this company. What is the first thing any idiot goes for to "fix" it, LABOR. Any idiot can cut labor to show a profit, REGIONAL YOU NEED TO SHOW US WHY YOU GET PAID SO MUCH. So, while I am stuck, I am pretending it is going to work so I don't lose my mind. That is all.............

I'm tired of telling our customers that the product might be on the truck tonight. I'm tired of bad produce coming into the store. I'm tired of the "leadership" clowns for blaming tms for all the problems. I'm tired.

@-okb..you sound like a cheerleader for the ots program.those taglines, bulletpoints, soundbites, are the pitch along with the "with cleaner backrooms, team members will be spending less time in the back of house and more time with customers"..yea more time explaining the holes..and spending more time in back organizing product, dating product, arraigning clipboards and shelf signs to pass a damn scorecard..all could have been solved with a real data driven inventory system in real time from the registers to the Irma/order writing..there is a reason why Walmart has already scrapped ots..it didn't work out too well for them..and call a spade a spade-this was a trick to lure a potential buyer of wfm by cooking our books/assets by limiting inventory on hand...we are sold now so we can scrap this blunder much the same as that data unification crap..

For that matter, stop hiring people when your team members tell you they are going to be awful. The friendly person doesn't get the job. The big guys/gals that walk around the store and act like cold fish end up being just that. They get hired anyway despite protests. They don't motivate by positive reinforcement-they notice only what is wrong, make constant negative comparisons, make you feel physically ill. Good job is out of the question. It is just to tell you daily how wrong everything is. I don't mean hand-holding and pats on the back for doing your job. I just mean everything is awful and here is a list. It's one thing to be a problem or lazy, or constantly miss things. They don't help on the sales floor and they distract you from finishing anything with their constant noticing of what they dislike. It could be their job to make sure everything goes smoothly, but if anything goes wrong, you see the dark side of them. Anything at all. Then you get those people who do the same job but with a good attitude. It makes a world of a difference. People don't quit jobs; they quit bosses. Those people make you want to work for them. More boss surveys. Pay attention. Don't you want people to want to work for you?

I went to 3 different stores in the SW Region to get what I needed on my list. Then still couldn’t get everything. I am sick of it. Went to a non WFM store to get the rest and found I could have gotten it all. It’s seriously not worth the time, effort and traffic to shop Whole Foods. Other store had better looking produce as well. I won’t embrace the empty shelves because shopping non Whole Foods, I DON’T HAVE TOO.

I was shopping my local whole foods last Saturday, where I got to love the no strawberries to or vc no turkey bacon,no grass fed ground beef and no organic banana holes. Obscure items I get, they are gonna be out of stock sometimes.. these are 4 of my 16 weekly purchases...

over is in the air.

Maybe you should stop picking everything apart and embrace OTS because it is here to stay. I would say they want people to stop covering holes with the wrong product ,which causes buyers to miss the need to order that product, and leave the hole so you can learn from it what you are running out of. Is it always the same items, is it consistent, is it a missed ordered item or an OOS from UNFI? I think that is what is meant by "embrace the holes". Just another way of saying it so Regional personal thinks they are a fancy pants instead of just saying learn from it.

that sounds exactly like one of our regions produce asst. coordinators..during the ots training sessions they said things that when there are holes we need to use that "opportunity and challenge" to get to know our customers better and suggestive sell other products..this doesn't work on holidays when people have very specific menus planned you regional dolts...and the use of that damn "university of phoenix " business language is very tiresome...
