Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Constructive Dismissal

I feel we are being constructively dismissed with all this restrictions, lack of training and lack of real work.

And the funny part is getting emails from HR about the employee referral program... while reqs are frozen, after more than 25% of the team either left or were laid off. What a joke.

I was just looking at my LinkedIn feed and noticed a lot of people just left. Don't believe what people are saying about Dell/EMC hiring. There are more people leave or getting let go then hiring. One customer just complained that they have had 5 account reps in just the past year.

They're hiring in India. We started reporting to VP in India 2 weeks ago.

Well I am getting off the ship soon. There is absolutely no investment in engineering and the only creative talent left is marketing and sales in crafting their daft PR stunts to sell something that is not very good in terms of an enterprise solution.

It is sad to see people just waiting around to get laid off like watching a Zombie movie in slow motion

A little over a year ago I was told my a Sr Manager that there was no active plan for layoffs. He said the plan was for thinning by attrition. In over a year, though ~15% have left, no replacement reqs have been opened...

Part of the plan to thin the workforce, make them so under motivated they will leave saving on redundancy.

Although that might be giving management to much credit, I think the place is just rudderless and they haven't a clue what to do.

Time to bail as this ship is only going to keep sinking and eventually will hit bottom!
