Promoted in November and now will be laid off in april. Apparently I made the list . At least will get 4 extra weeks of severance

OP: good for you. You have a better severance package thanks to your promotion and you will be able to continue your career at another company with a better title. I hope you fell gratitude towards your current manager.

I have never been promoted, and will probably be on the list...
