Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

H1B, L1Bs and all other work visas should not be approved if a company layoffs Americans

Support those politicians who put Americans first!

@1qic that's unfortunate to hear. That's not been my experience. I do know few folks not up to the mark but that includes Americans and foreigners . I do know though when we hire in our group majority of resumes we get are from foreigners . Most of the hires that has always turn out to be great.

Not sure if you have been involved in recruiting . But my general experience is you dont get a lot of applications from Americans .

Ps all my hires has been from top tier USA universities (both Americans and h1bs)

@csn: what are you smoking? I was referring to many companies including QUALCOMM. Many H1B engineers my group are clueless on what they are doing.

@csn, You're right. I've interviewed and hired quite a few H1-B engineers. All of them were coming out of good American universities with either masters degrees or PhDs. All this crap about incompetent engineers coming into QCOM via H1-B is complete horse SHlT.

@jam I was referring to employees at qualcomm. Most of the h1bs I know from qualcomm have masters/phds from top 15 universities in USA. May not be applicable to other companies.

Personally I don't know anyone at qualcomm on H1b not having a masters degree from top rated US university

Udk: India is third world country, a large number of H1bs got fake” degrees”or from corrupted culture “universities” from their home country, not mentioning they got into the company through an abused and corrupted system.

And so everyone jumps on the bandwagon of blaming H1Bs no matter what. Probably you guys need to spend more time at work rather than spending hours on chitchatting about the weekend/holiday plans, your kid p--p schedules, not being able to take a sh-- for weeks, cribbing about your wives, papa john deals, and so on..

Moran. You do know that the technologies made by Qualcomm contribute to automation productivity, and in turn the loss of American jobs. Don't you?

1 Goal for any corporations is to make money. It's not to keep American jobs, ok? If you want to work for a company without H1-b, go to McDonalds.

cant be a generic statement. I would rather keep a good hardworking h1b having PHD/Masters from top 10 university than some average american from some average university

PS most of qulacomm H1bs come from top 15 US universities

How stupid you are! Those people who made damage have already found other positions in the Q and you guys are still pointing each other. Think it twice - why we have the layoff?

Agree. laying off American while keeping H1B and moving jobs to China and India, unacceptable. I wonder if we can file a complaint somewhere? Please post if you have information.

And more, H1Bs should be laid off BEFORE Americans. America first.
