Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

If only we had better management...

All Qualcomm's problems could be solved with better management on all levels.

Imagine what we could achieve if mid-management actually focused on their jobs instead of constantly fighting among each other?

Or if those on top actually properly delegated and distribute responsibilities accordingly?

Or if they actually got rid of actual dead weight instead of some of our best employees just because they are paid better?

Oh, but to dream...

If only Qualcomm had better engineers who aren’t constantly complaining about management and being racist bigots towards certain cultures.

Senior Director / VP: "The directors and other senior overhead are not removed by me guess why?"

Because I the vp/ senior director will have no company to chat with otherwise . I can now distribute my work with all the directors in my team and have someone to blame for and here we declare we are not responsible for the poor leadership

I know many IT people that have no IT background, but just got moved over here by their friend that used to be in Finance, now we spend half our time trying to educate this person and the other half fixing what they broke or who they pissed off. Great job HR for not questioning the complete lack of qualification all because his friend was a Sr D!

Do anyone think that either :

1) the exisiting middle managers will suddenly perk up and perform ?

or

2) Q will hire a bunch of driven, capable managers at the director level ?

Nah ! Neither will happen. Same slow decline.......................and endless meetings to 'discuss'.

Quit the blasted discussion and meetings and start DOING !

absolutely agree. I know tons of principals and directors in Test teams who do nothing but status tracking with poor technical skills dependant on other staff engineers.
