This is a flat out lie and I won't stand for it. Employees of Kmart should not be running THEIR company down, they should be telling everyone who will listen about just how much cheaper they are than competitors. I can understand people saying that Sears Holdings doesn't properly advertise or promote their price advantage, but to say they ARE more expensive is a lie. When you have a points program that regularly has spent $50 get back $20 in points, spend $40 get back $20 in points etc then you are much much cheaper than competitors when your everyday prices are only about 10% higher. If you cannot be bothered as a customer to input a phone number and pin to see massive savings from rewards points and free cash then that's your prerogative, but to say they are more expensive is a LIE. There are so many people against this company and spreading false lies about it that it's so sad when their own employees do the same. Just remember that when you sleep under a roof or put any food in your mouth, it's coming from Sears Holdings. You should be happy for it to do well, it doing well means your source of income is more stable and secure. Nobody in America is forced to work for anyone, IT IS A CHOICE.

Many people are redeeming points at Kmart (and Sears) just fine, I don't know what @1eku is talking about. Yes, the register system does go down occasionally, but it's a few times a year, not every time someone tries to use points!
However, the amount of points most customers get is nowhere near going to make up for the prices being that much higher. Maybe for the small minority of customers who spend hours pursuing all the ways to earn extra points.
Oh my god, have you shopped in one? Prices are 25 to 30 percent higher, and your so called points are worthless because they cannot be redeemed...have you ever tried to redeem them? It locks up the computers and the registers for hours. At least be honest.
Employees of Kmart are not running their company down. It is the company that is running us down, running us ragged, and running us to other jobs. Corporate troll please go away or at least tell the truth. I know what I speak of, I work at corporate and see what is happening, not only in the stores but at HE.
I always look at Kmart.com/Sears when looking for stuff online. 9 times out of 10 the item I want is either not available or is more expensive than elsewhere.
That's my experience, and I have to assume it's also how many others feel.
I work for Sears and I frequently shop at Kmart but only for certain items. Even with free cash and earning bonus points, many items remain more expensive than the grocery stores, chain drug stores, Target and Wal-Mart in my area. I wish this weren't the case but it is.
Kmart was more expensive on many items after the % off when we still received our discount. It has been like this for years. To be fair this predates Eddie.
I am a customer who only shops at Kmart because of the free cash/shop your way program. Why would I pay $14 for 3 cases of pop when I can get it for $10 at another store, or why would I pay $3.00 for a package of cookie mix that I can get for $2 elsewhete.
ANSWER MY QUESTION!!! I am just a member of the public/customer who loves Kmart. Do me the decency and tell me who you are. An employee, customer, or neither?
@vgp - Well, someone sure has a haughty attitude! That condition is known to exist amongst the senior management of SHLD. Seems that it is spreading to the corporate trolls that haunt this site.
@zra, My question to you is: why if you don't work for Sears Holdings and you don't like shopping at Sears Holdings do you visit this site? If you do work for Sears Holdings, why does it bother you that someone says positive things about your company? Are you an ex employee who is bitter? A competitor's employee? A loser who takes a pay check from a company you hate and are determined to root against? A short seller on the stock market? The real question is why are you so against anyone saying anything positive about Sears Holdings?
Why are you going out of your way to defend this failing company and just don't get it. It makes it sound like they insulted a member of your family it's a store get over it.
Let's do price comparisons, let's expose the lie. Everyone keeps claiming that Kmart is more expensive than Target and Walmart without a shread of evidence. I can only conclude that they're liars or they can't do math.
