Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Honestly I stopped believing anything this website posted after the first racist posts sparked up.

And you should too. Nothing anyone has said in this has ever been true

Though the tone was harsh and abusive, H1bs is an issue. There is a large amount of young and educated people graduating from India, China. Being from less privileged background they are willing to work a lot more for a lot less. All their talent, hard work, motivation comes from the fact that they know this H1b visa is a unique opportunity for them to make great improvements in their career. An opportunity which they would never get back in their country. Their desire to succeed sometimes makes them cheat coz that is what is prevalent back in their country.

But now its for the US govt to decide whether they want to preserve jobs for US citizens and miss out on a large cheap talent pool by making job market less competitive.

Or make rules to preserve jobs for its citizens first but then become somewhat like EU where labor rules are more employee friendly. Which results in companies having difficulty starting up there.

I too am surprised at the number of racist post. Even if the so call educated and intellectual workforce thinks in this line, it is no surprise that US/Britain took the conservative side in last election. Why all the hue and cry? Is it because, the foreign hires are not as talented as internal? Or is it because, these guys are will to do the same work in less money than the internal?
