Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Anonymous

All of us who have lost jobs at WFM, it’s time we boycott all stores. It’s time to tell all family and friends to start shopping at other grocery stores. I already started and it felt really good.

I've been doing that for three years. No one I know shops there....We don't even talk about it. I brag on my food and let everyone know that NONE of it came from the Food Hole. I'm thrilled to know that others are boycotting and encouraging others to do so as well. Ex-TM? Shop Costco, TJs, Aldi, your local Latino market or farmer's market...whatever. Anywhere but HERE.

It's time to boycott?

Lol. I was out in 2015 and havent been back.

I only shopped there bc of the TM discount.

Made friends with vendors along the way tho and still get discounts but by different means.

Everything i gt there ive found cheaper other paces, even WITH 20% discount.

Im not quite sure what your point is...most TMs bought product bc of convenience and discount...j bc of values

And all these managers and regional people might be scrambling to impress. Since Amazon has these great algorithms, I hope they use them to analyze how many people leave a particular store. It is expensive to hire a new team member. If you have a manager who makes everyone miserable, be it dept or store, It’s amazing when they think people leave because of opportunities. When you start seeing a bunch of people leave, it is typically because someone is destroying morale and it’s amazing when they think people leave because of opportunities. When you interview managers that everyone tells you give them a bad feeling, skip over the enthusiastic and positive alternatives and hire the stoic, it sends the message that you’re going to hire who you want anyway. Then when people turn out to be treated terribly and are given unrealistic expectations with an unsupportive manager especially that comes from the outside and doesn’t even understand the business model of the basic tenets of things like labor and expectation, people leave. I’m not speaking about this particular business model. Speaking of any business model. This is expensive. Hire people who encourage morale and motivate instead of the person who is always looking at what is wrong.

I only shopped there for convenience because I was working there anyway. Add to that I only shopped sales I could add my discount to. I have absolutely no incentive to ever step foot in one again. I shop exclusively at Sprouts, Aldi, and Walmart.

Before the Amazon buyout, it was well documented that WFM lost 13 to 15 million shoppers, do you think they have all flocked back because we are Prime now, hardly the case. Look for the next year sales to continue to slow and slow, 49 cent banana are good enough of a reason to shop at Bezos HellFoods. Oh and Happy 420😎

I stopped because I don't trust anything about Amazon. Don't trust the food anymore. Looks awful! Don't trust the produce or the food prepared by upset and stressed out team members. Also I worry the old food ends up on the food bars and not in dumpster where it belongs.

Despite all of us?!? It won’t be long before WFM begs for our business. Watch how long before their numbers crash. As for me, I can’t wait. It won’t be long before you’re nothing more than a 3rd rate chain.

With the poor quality of produce, spoilage, and expired product we're comping in the red. We're putting ourselves out of business.

And yet despite all you, and your spheres of influence, no longer shopping, comps are growing at the highest rate in years. It’s almost like you don’t matter. Huh...

Layoffs have been going on for awhile SSI ,ISE ,PBS ,HES, Marketing TL, Team combinations. Boycotting won’t do anything WF is just going to be like every other store. Being owned by Amazon ensures WF won’t be going away with or without the people who have been laid offs bussiness. If you still work there just go in do your shift and go home. It’s a grocery store treat it like what it is.

Where are you shopping? What made you decide to shop there? I like Costco because the employees get good pay/benefits.
