On day 1, I heard a TL complaining about team members not participating in the "fun" stuff like crazy hat day... Why does the leadership team seem to think that stuff like this is to make TM's feel appreciated? I would rather hear compliments such as: I know you are working your butt off.... etc.... Simple complements are lost from the leadership group. I think that it is cute that emails from the top went out claiming that TMs are appreciated, however, free stuff and crap does not make people feel valued. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the free stuff along with many others at my store.

Complaining about 5 days of free crap? I've had many jobs over my lifetime and none of them had anything like "team member appreciation week". Most did not even give PTO other than a couple week vacation. For those who have only worked at WFM, you are in for a hard awakening when you realize that most companies are run like a business and not hippy dippy funland.

Lol. One of the astls came into produce asking if we had any gauc or salsa that was getting spoiled out. They wanted to use it for Taco Tuesday. When I mentioned we had some fresh stuff that was just made, they looked at me like I was crazy. So, brown gauc it was!

I sure loved the Costco nitrate deli meats and the Nature's Own bread for day one of TMAW! I mean, who needs vegetables or fruit? And it just keeps getting better, especially on Friday when we get to wear tie-dyed shirts ALL DAY!

Back in the day...

Yes, those were good times! But those days are long gone. It’s great to reminisce, but not if it is going to keep you stuck, thinking that it will ever be like that again. Time to face facts. We are now Amazon. Amazon is not known for being one of the happiest places to work. Worker bees will probably love Amazon, but those of you that are still hoping for a Mackey miracle need to face reality. You can either embrace the changes that will be coming, or fight them and be miserable. If that is the case, it is probably time to dust off and freshen up your resumes, or go back to school and learn something new.

It does your no good to live in denial and complain about what is, because honestly, it is probably only going to get worse.

We sure would answer those calls back in the day. It felt like a real team. We would come together and work our tails off, smiling and giving great service the entire time. It was fun to work hard with great people for bosses who really valued you and showed it in more (and much more IMPORTANT) ways than just lip service.

My TL actually had the nerve to tell us that will need to " really work extra hard" next week because everyone is getting hours cut and there won't be enough coverage. But hey, free coffee on Monday.

I like the food that hasn’t been kept up to temp and been sitting in the break room all day. I’ll pass on food poisoning but thanks for the effort😒

My store will order a bunch of pizza or something around11am. Team members will descend on it like a pack of hyenas and it will be gone within an hour or two. That's pretty much it. If you work a later shift you may be lucky and get some scraps, but it is highly unlikely.

Cook out, T-shirt, ice cream, those coupons, mini swag like water bottle, is like all stores at some point in week and each store does other stuff. Some stls go all out. Usiallly just minor stuff every year

Appreciation Day?? You’re kidding? WFM appreciates nothing anymore, especially team leaders.

The cookout day is definitely the best. Our STL had to cook outside during a thunderstorm last year, so I it was very entertaining.

Dude I think it depends on the store that you work on . In my store the only day I am looking forward to it is the cook out day but all other days is junk food I am not interested.
