Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Is the Electric City Doomed?

Hopefully Flannery and Stokes will pull the plug on the Schenectady campus once and for all. The electric city is doomed!

Those self inflated ego driven management staff of the past 2 years broke down the union with deception, lies, and harassment. Along with not knowing the product processes. They fake it till they move up to raise their paychecks and small man ego syndrome.

They also broke the local 301 union officials to be scared enough not to walk on the 24 hour notice that was issued towards the company while I was still working.

Now that I am laid off again my ex co workers say the place is really taking a dive. Fear of another big layoff coming soon. The union is running scared, the company is walking all over them. Work is dried up and the future looks grim for the Electric City.

I was told that White collar employees are leaving at an alarming rate! Those Higher up positions one would think would want to retire from? They left knowing what? That the Electric city is doomed? The Doors are closing? I bet they close the place it was such a dump! Feel free to leave a conducive comment.

Hopefully some relief comes soon to my ex fellow union brothers. To end their mistake and misery for those left to work under those, inflated inhuman harassing conditions. The ones who thought they had a Career on a lower standard of living and no retirement. Work for a 1/3 less pay and management says still over paid.

While they sit in the office thinking on ways to screw the shop floor over and laugh and high five each other in the office about it. To try to write the shop floor up over petty stuff against those who are trying to provide an income for families?

I say good luck and good riddance life after GE is better than you think.

GE’s Power Management staff couldn’t manage a pile of dog waste out of a brown paper bag. So Sad. Then they try to blame the workers on the floor

More layoffs to come soon because of earnings shortfalls

Will hit both Greenville and Schenectady

Union is irrelevant, its the balance sheet that counts and GE just isn't cutting it

Too many facilities, with bloated management, Atlanta and Alstom costs and overhead too high

Went from 35,000 employees to now 64,500 making less than half the units, and factory loads at 30%

Drastic measures required to bring balance back
