New "Attire"

Am I the only one that is wondering who approved our new Attire.....not one person in my store wants to wear this crap, as a 29 year old man, I'm embarrassed to have to wear these shirts, seriously, I have to wear shirts with hearts and cutsie eyebrows. You can't make this crap up!

Pushing people to phone support rather than helping them proves you don’t get it.

@6ozu where did you get your information?

There is still tech support and there is still customer service: 800-922-0204.

Now get out of my store and stop clogging up our queue because gramgrams picture are soooooo important except they weren't important enough to back up.

Here's the thing @5yan. Its you who is wrong. They got rid of tech support 6-7 years ago and customer service last year. Who the hell is left to offer support? They have no choice but to go to a sales person for support because there's no one else in store to help out. And don't give me the here for "sales" card cause even that is questionable with the ethics and tactics displayed by so called VZW "sales" reps.

And regarding being written up instead of slamming you know this whole thing wouldn't exist if stores unionized. And if you were a real sales person you would understand what can be gained by actually helping these people rather than try to slam them and make a quick buck and piss them off.

This is why nobody respects wireless workers and why they get sh-- on here. You have no balls, refuse to Unionize to better yourself, think customers who dont buy are wasting your time and basically pieces of sh-- and the only way THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SELL ANY KIND OF GROWTH IS BY LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH.

YOU ARE NOT A SALES PERSON.

Want further proof? Next time you're dressed for work look in the mirror and tell me do you see a sales professional? What you should be seeing is a jackass in jeans and a goofy verizon shirt.

Wrong 1elr, we are not their support.

We are here for sales, not to be someone's photo retrieving tech-b--ch.

And as for your comment about hums, I'd rather ram one down everyone's throat than have to deal with a write up because i didn't mention it to that one person.

That's right, write ups for failing to mention it to one person no matter if it's a bill pay, a Fios customer paying their bill who hates VZW, a guy with a 90 day past due that we litterally can't add a line to.

Does. Not. Matter. One faulter and your in the office because your commitment said every customer, every time.

So that guy that threw his phone at you? "Did you ask him about a hum? I don't care if he threw a phone across the store, your commitment says..." I watched that happen verbatim to an other woman in my store.

So no, we aren't your(or the customers') tech b--ch, we are sales and we are held to asinine standards.

We have many customers who lose photos thru software upgrades or were they wiped them from the device themselves with no backup or google photo etc and the front line people do show concern and help, but come on take some responsibility if it's so important obviously 1eir has never dealt with these people , so come on volunteer and help the customers with no backup or the phone is wiped.

You are their support to retrieve those photos maybe you could you know be a decent human being and offer a lending hand of support rather than try to see how you can jam a Hum down her throat.

Don’t forget your commitments that you have to say to every single customer no matter what the reason is that they’re at the store. Oh your phone reset itself and you lost your photos of a lost loved one well how about a Hum to solve your problem.

Who cares what you wear ! Just keep helping the customers that walk in with unopened fedex boxes, giving "free tech" support or "trouble shooting" to people who insist you still do it even after you say you don't and too call tech support or tech coach, people that can't pay their bill any other way than using the bill payment kiosk and then can't use the kiosk because it has a touch screen in 2018, telling people you don't do content transfer because location does not have cellbrites but insist you do it and don't leave cause something might go wrong?, then watch phone do it while Sammy Slammer gets a walk-in give me port( no skill just luck) While Wading thru this chaos everyday to try and sell 5 phones a day to make quota while competing against 14 other reps.Honestly during weekdays a rep might touch 3 sales opportunities, weekends are still fine. It goes on and on , while most Solution Managers are useless and don't help( That would take a book to explain what they don't do Volume 1 and 2 )

Like it or not, pretty much every company dictates what you wear. They might not enforce you to wear a uniform, but every company has a dress code, whether it be suit and tie or t shirt and jeans.

The switch to the new attire is clearly the sea change from Verizon employees being salesmen who were motivated to sell and make a good living, to just the equivalent of a Target or Best Buy slug. It’s the last gasp before stores start closing down in the next 2-3 years. At this rate of decline can you imagine VeriZon stores being open in 2020?

The new clothes are atrocious. McDonald’s employees look more professional than me. Just another reason to look for another job
