Any word on if or when store buyers might be eliminated? Not regional, just store buyers?

Automation is the end goal some jobs can’t replaced by machines yet.WB and Grocery will be the first to take the hit I think. Almost all items are prepacked except for things offered in bulk.TM will still be needed to stock but buyers will probably get cut down. If auto ordering is in place and WF goes to Electronic tags it really knocks out a big portion of the buyer role. It s---s that it is coming to this but automation is going put everyone not just At WF out of a job.
Even Target and Walmart still have people with hand scanners on the sales floor all the time. As long as people are stocking shelves there will be items put in the wrong spot.The quality of people in the NA are atrocious WF pays almost the same as every other entry level job but more is expected of the TM and they wonder why it’s imposdibke to fill positions.......
Soon it will be replaced by robots like in walmart. If you dont realize that soon well you are “stupid”. Amazon is cheap and savings is their main priority. They dont care about people. God save the Queen! No job is save. And if buyers are gone and no one else to blame then why they would need TLs. They next on the chopping block.
Of course they don't want to get rid of byers!!!!!! Who else would they blame for everything?????????

I dont think it'll be for awhile.. Whole foods data is to much of a mess. I can tell you team leaders and regional pray for the day Gr they can be rid of buyers. The history of buyers is complex so most people blame everything on them..But hey. I'm a buyer and I can tell you that wherever you go if youre a buyer youre going to be blamed for a lot of sh--.. Its just whole foods buying history is so tarnished if youre currently purchasing there your name is being thrown in with the good and bad buyers. Its just the way it is. Grass is greener on the other side. Give it a try
