Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

severance

I’ve heard a somewhat reliable rumor that Sams will not be paying severance checks anymore . They will try to place you in another position .. one you may not want .. and if you refuse it’s byebye no offer of severance. Any thoughts ?

Northeast and no letter, they are lying have constantly told us it would be last week now this week!!! I will call Furners Office , I will not stop until they pay Severance timely. Have contacted a Private Attorney!! Get a Lawyer send them a letter!!!

They are way off base, arrogant and disrepectful as always!! They will honor severance to those displaced.

You will take any job we tell you to take. Otherwise you can take your selfish, penniless corpse elsewhere.

Decline a comparable job .. working days and offered nights while driving an hour each way is not comparable..

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but only the management pay plan has been updated for fye19. The associate pay plan is still fye18 on the wire. Makes me think something is changing in there and they haven’t worked out all the kinks.

You have to decline an offered job to lose your severance pay.

While yes it’s on the wire it’s true that Sams is trying to find ways now not to have to pay it. It happened with the clerks and another position (both after the club closings).

I remember years ago Sams kept getting sued (class action) by associates for not following their policies and the company quickly corrected those issues (ie being forced to work off the clock by management is one example). Mark my words, I see this (class action suit) happening again.

Just expand your job description and a way the severance goes

But I’ll bring up that new book they sent me

So if you’re a team lead and they eliminate that position but offer you full time in the same department... they have to offer you severance if you don’t take the position?

Everyone can access compensation plan on the wire. They update it every year. This covers what happens when a position is eliminated. Severance is part of that process.

Wire-knowledge center-personnel- compensation- Sams compensation
